Its purpose is to ground marketing, product development, and copywriting in real customer insights rather than assumptions. Use this skill when you need to conduct, analyze, or synthesize customer research, including analyzing transcripts, survey data, support tickets, or building customer personas.

The skill operates in two main modes: analyzing existing research assets and gathering new research from online sources. The first mode involves extracting signals from materials like customer interview transcripts, survey results, customer support conversations, win/loss interviews, churned customer notes, and NPS responses.

For the second mode, the skill guides on how to gather intel from online platforms such as Reddit, G2, forums, communities, and review sites. For both modes, the skill provides a framework to extract key insights including Jobs to Be Done (functional, emotional, social), Pain Points, Trigger Events, Desired Outcomes, and the exact Language and Vocabulary customers use.
