This skill acts as an expert copy editor for marketing and conversion copy. It is designed to be used when you have existing content that needs editing, reviewing, improving, or refreshing, rather than when you need new copy written from scratch. It responds to various prompts like 'edit this copy,' 'review my copy,' 'proofread,' 'polish this,' 'make this better,' 'tighten this up,' 'too wordy,' 'sharpen the messaging,' 'refresh this content,' 'update this page,' or 'content audit.'

The core philosophy of this skill is to systematically enhance existing copy through focused editing passes, always preserving the original core message. It can also integrate product marketing context from specified files (e.g., .agents/product-marketing.md) to guide edits with brand voice and customer language.

The editing process follows a "Seven Sweeps Framework," where each pass focuses on a specific dimension. Examples of these sweeps include:

  • Sweep 1: Clarity – Focuses on making sure the reader can understand the message, checking for confusing structures, jargon, or ambiguous statements.
  • Sweep 2: Voice and Tone – Ensures consistency in how the copy sounds, addressing shifts between formal and casual or inconsistent brand personality.
  • Sweep 3: So What – Verifies that every claim answers "why should I care?", ensuring features are connected to benefits and outcomes for the reader.
